Riders in town
AMAZING! Our morning began in the teepee where everyone spoke of their challenges and goals for the day which ranged from drinking enough water to not letting their anxiety get in the way of their personal and group goals. We took a scenic drive to JHTRA for horse introductions and as expected lots of anxiety.
However, to be able to watch the anxiety wash away from these folks was unbelievable. We fought back the tears (most of the time) as we saw the metamorphosis happen right in front of our eyes. The participants were introduced to their horses which included a 5-minute one on one bonding time. The group learned very quickly starting with walking with their horses, mounting, stopping, turning and “ride on” which meant the horse starts walking.
We stayed for lunch at JHTRA and enjoyed some Wyoming BBQ. It felt like one big family sitting around a single table with people we just met yesterday from all over the United States! Our next adventure took us to the base of The Grand Tetons where we were lucky enough to enjoy an 8-mile scenic float trip. The views were unbelievable. In addition to wildlife sightings including bald eagles, beavers, mule deer, and even a porcupine!
The day ended at Dornan’s with a delicious pizza dinner and more fantastic conversation. Life truly is full of transformation!…and this was only DAY 2!
